Parks, trails and green spaces that families can enjoy and communities can share have been part of the DNA of D.L. Meacham since its founding 40 years ago.
The firm formalized its commitment to green space development with a major donation to the Houston Parks Board’s Park Leadership Circle. The Houston Parks Board, a nonprofit that works to connect all Houstonians through public green spaces, has been raising funds and spearheading the development of parks, trails and greenways since 1976. Its Leadership Circle was formed to impact Houston’s communities and to fulfill its mission to create, improve, protect and advocate for parks for everyone.
“The Houston Parks Board is committed to providing access to parks and green spaces for all families throughout the city,” said Chad Meacham, managing partner of D.L. Meacham Construction. “We have admired the ingenuity and commitment of this organization and we are proud to support its mission and contribute to the future development of Houston’s parks.”
D.L. Meacham has been involved in the construction of several high-profile area parks including the Lee & Joe Jamail Skatepark, the first world-class, in-ground skatepark in the region that opened in June 2008.
The firm is currently working on the development of phase 2 of Exploration Park in Cinco Ranch. Exploration Park was opened in 2015 and features a custom xylophone bridge and interactive exhibits, including a sensory garden.
Additionally, in the Cypress community of Bridgeland, D.L. Meacham is involved in the construction of the 25-acre Village Park that will include a lazy river, event hall and lawn, playground, sprayground and much more.
